Merry Christmas!!!

Hey Everyone,
I figured I should wish everyone a Merry Christmas now because I know I am going to be super busy. Tomorrow Me and Anthony will make the trek down to Tremonton. We are spending the night down there and spending all day with my parents and my sister on Christmas eve. Then late Wednesday we head back home. Early Christmas morning me and Anthony will have our own Christmas together, then we head to his dads. Then I work from 3-6. Then I will meet Anthony at his moms house for her Christmas. Its so busy during the holidays. So much family, so little time. I am extremely grateful for them though. I complain sometimes about all the driving around, but I really do love them all and wouldn't have it any other way. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas and I hope that the weather holds up so that everyone arrives safely. Visions of last years Christmas eve are flashing through my head.....me and Anthony doing a 360 on the freeway.....in the mini...no fun. Anyways, I love you all tons! Thanks for being such great friends and family.

Plans for today...

I am exhausted!!! Unfortunately it is only Tuesday. Yesterday I had another marathon interviewing day at work. I posted an ad on craigslist on Friday morning around 9am. I went about my day and then realized around 8 that night that I had not checked my work email to see if I had any responses from it. I opened my email and to my surprise I had 37 emails! I quickly took the ad off the website and just stared at my screen for about 5 minutes. I got everyone emailed back and then got all the times organized. Yesterday I ended up with 13 interviews, 3 of them never showed. Each one basically a half hour apart. Usually there are 2 or 3 that I can tell right off aren't going to work. The select few I am talking about will come in with either a mini skirt or a cocky attitude or mentions something from their previous job that triggers a red flag. When this happens I gladly skim through the 3 pages and only ask half the questions, mostly so I'm not wasting my time. I remember one chick in particular. I asked her what her best qualities were and how those qualities helped her at work. Her respond was "My eyes, they bring men in and they leave them crawling back for more!" I just stared at her, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. She then proceeded to tell me that because of her eyes she always had happy guest and that was how it helped her at work. Needless to say, I didn't hire her, but I did take some advice and on my way home that night I picked up a new bottle of mascara.

Yesterday all of my interviewees were excellent, which meant 15-20 min interviews with each person. It was so exhausting! I try to be energetic and I notice that I try to act as if I'm truly powerful. Which usually last for about 3 interviews. Then around 4, 5, 6, 7, I just got whiny lol. They were all so excellent that 6 of them were so hard to decide on that they all will get 2nd interviews.

I don't know why I'm writing any of this. I just love and hate my interview days. Interviews are probably my favorite thing about my position at work. I love meeting new people, and my friends Jenika and Shanna tease me that I love them because I get my fix from them. Its nice to be in control LOL.

ANYWAYS...........

So these are my plans to wind down from yesterday.

1) watch a whole season of Seinfeld---hmmm should it be season 6 or 7? NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!
2)Fold the 3 loads of laundry that has been chilling on the kitchen table for the last week! (yes I too am so ashamed!!!)
3)Finish my shopping, I have one more person to buy for and then I am completely finished.
4)chill in my green office and make some cards (It has been weeks since I have posted any new cards on scrapbook.com)
5) makes dinner????? I dunno, that one might be dropped, if that does happen it will probably something as impressive as spaghetti.....right...cuz we haven't had that in like....a week.

So anyways that's my plans....They look pretty impressive to me. Now if only I could reach the seinfeld dvds from my couch!!!!!

Hope you all are having a relaxing day too!! Love you all!

Book Suggestion

-Thirteen Reasons Why
Jay Asher
Clay Jensen receives a package with no return address. When he opens it, he finds seven cassette tapes. Those have been recorded by Hannah Baker, his classmate who had committed suicide two weeks ago. He had secretly been in love with her but never had the courage to tell her about it.

In those cassettes, she has stated thirteen reasons for ending her own life and he is one of the reasons. Hannah had even left him a map marking places with dots for him to visit. In a way, she has chronicled her life before she gave it up. He walks out of his home, filches his friend, Tony's walkman and with her voice in his ear; he walks all over the town trying to understand why she took her own life. Every recipient has to pass it on to the next person who is somehow one of the thirteen reasons.

If you are looking for a easy read (I found it in the teen section), this is the perfect book. Its a great thought provoking book. I read it in 6 hours. I probably could have done it quicker but there were a couple of distractions...potty breaks...Anthony snoring at 2am. Anyways, go buy it! Its Fantastic!

LINDSEY IN THE KITCHEN!

So I found this fantastic recipe on someones blog the other day. (sorry to whomever it was!!!) So here it is...pumpkin cake! Its the easiest recipe in the world.

All you need is
PLUS

You mix 14 oz of pumpkin pie mix, then a box of yellow cake....that's it! No egg, water, oil or anything. Just the powder and pumpkin. Put it in the oven @ 350 for about 40 minutes. **I did it in a bundt pan and it took over an hour*** Just watch it. Its done with its golden brown on the edges and when it has passed the toothpick test. Don't under cook it tho, its really gooey and its not very good lol. When you have baked it for the appropriate time it comes out sooo moist and yummy! I made it and took it to work. Jill Young also tried it and hers turned out wonderful too! Heres how it turned out (presentation is lacking I know!)

The icing is
1 cup of powdered sugar
2 tablespoons apple cidar
1/2 tablespoon pumpkin spice
**regular frosting would be yummy too tho***

3 simple words

IT IS FINISHED!!!!!!!!

My office is finally done. I have everything all put away. I made some frames, some magnet boards and altered a lamp for the room. It was sooo much fun. The bulletin boards have yet to be put on the walls (that's a man's job lol) so I laid them out so you (yes you!!!) can see what they will look like on the wall (to the right of my (the glass one) desk). Let me know what you think.....!
Love you all! have a great week!

Soooo evidently painting is alot of work!

Okay so I STILL do not have the office finished! The last time we painted Anthony did all of it. This has been my project and so far I'm not in love with the labor. The picture you see is basically all of the paining I have done, one tiny little square. I still need to sand all the other walls. Maybe by the end of the week? Anthony has been too busy with school and work to help, which he had informed me would happen when I had spontaneously told him my plans. I guess I just figured it would miraculously be finished lol. TA DA!!! I was wrong. Oh well! I will post pictures of the anti-magical room the second it is done!!! Hope everyone is having a great week!! ****P.s, this is random, but send me some good dinner recipes, I'm OUT! You know how I can tell??? Cuz I just ate half a sleeve of crackers and guacamole for dinner.......SICK!!!! (mmm but oh so good!)

Light switch project update

Okay so 2 days ago I posted about the light switch project. I made one and decided I liked the turn out so much that I'm just gonna do all the switched in the office since i'm painting it now. I think the polka dots will be so fun. So here's the two that I have done so far. Thanks for looking! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Redoing my office!!!

So I was on scrapbook.com yesterday and I came across this lady's scraproom. It was adorable! All of her paper all organized neatly, her embellishments all in lil jars lined in a row and the walls were bright LIME GREEN! I instantly fell in love with it.It was as if heaven has welcomed itself to her house! After that I could not get the idea out of my head.......I WANT TO PAINT MY OFFICE GREEN TOO! So I called anthony and out of sheer surprise he gave me the permission to paint the office. Of course the paint store that we go to was closed so now I have to wait until monday. I have been working on a cabinet though. So here it is. It use to have hideous stickers ALL over it. It was Anthonys before we got married. So I cleaned it up and heres the finished product. Let me know what you think! I LOVE PROJECTS LIKE THIS! Oh and I also did the frame and the "L" Super easy. I think it all will go together perfect once I get the green on the walls. I will post the finished room on Tuesday! YAY!

Fall is here!!!

Anthony is out of school this week due to fall break. Its been really weird to wake up to him. Usually he is gone by 5am and returns home around 7pmish, then eats dinner and then continues to work on homework or anything else he can catch up on. It has been so nice to spend time with him throughout the week. Yesterday we decided it would be a good time to go get some family pictures done. Most of the leaves had lost the vibrant colors I was hoping for (darn snow) but I think they turned out pretty good. Anthony used his nice film camera for most of the pictures so I probably won't be able to get them posted for awhile. But I took my little digital camera with me and took a shot or two. Hope everyone is enjoying the weather. Its been so nice to put a sweater on and relax in front of our fireplace. We broke the hot chocolate out last night. That was awesome.

I have found so much inspiration lately from a scrapbook.comer named Danielle Flanders (http://danielleflanders.blogspot.com/). She is absolutely amazing! I wish I had half the talent she does. Heres a couple of mine. I wish I could spend just an hour with her, shes seriously my idol! Oh and also her blog is on mine, take a look at her stuff! You will be dumbfounded with how amazing she is! "Lindsey, have YOU been drinking tonight?"

I have to tell everyone my story of me and Shanna in Boise...I know its hard to imagine anything worth talking about in Boise but this is excellent. So we left around 4:00 from Salt Lake to Boise. We planned on staying at the Anniversary Inn for the night then getting up and heading out for our hideous 8 hour trip to Seattle. On our way there Shanna got a hold of her friend and we decided to meet her for dinner at the local bar....the reef. So as we were walking to the bar Shanna asked me if it was alright if she got a drink. I don't drink she is always asking me if it is okay, what a considerate friend. So during dinner (I got a salad...with an eyelash in it lol gross!!) I got up and excused myself to the bathroom and when I returned Shannas friend had convinced her to get a second drink. She asked me if i was okay with driving us the rest of the way to the inn. Of course i said yes but instantly i knew i didnt want to for 2 reason....1. I hate driving other peoples cars. I can barely handle my own. 2. I don't know my way around Boise and I didnt have alot of faith in myself to get us back to the inn.

After dinner got over and the bar was closing (it was around 10:30...yeah quite the hoppin bar) we started walking down the street to shannas car. "Hey Linds, I can drive, I'm not feeling to buzzed." I thought about it and said ok....then thought better of it and yanked the keys from her. (this gets better, i swear).......
So I get in the car and the first thing i ask is "How do i turn the lights on?"
"They are automatic, don't worry about it"

So I pull out of the parking lot, go around one corner and what do i see in the rear view mirrors??? YES.....It was a cop pulling us over!!!!!!
"Shanna we are getting pulled over!!!!!!"
"No we arent! We haven't even done anything, keep on going"

I pull over, remember she was drunk, I didnt feel like trusting her instincts at the time lol. The cop comes up and this is the conversation that went on...

Copper: Do you know why I pulled you over?
Linds:NO!!!
Copper: Your lights were off!!!!
(shanna thinks of giggling but contains herself...this was serious...stay focused)
Copper: License and registration
(shanna begins digging through the glove box)
Copper:Lindsey, what have you been doing tonight?
Linds:We just got done eatting. (i know this was dumb because who just eats dinner at 1030)
Copper: Dinner huh? Where at?
Linds: The Reef
Copper: And you just had dinner? Lindsey is this your car?
Shanna: This is my car, I had a couple of drinks and so Lindsey is driving for me.
Copper: Lindsey, have you been drinking???
Linds:NOOOO! I dont drink!!! (LOL)
Copper: Lindsey, Take your seatbelt off please.
(I am now freaking out)
(Shanna is still trying not to laugh and is digging in the glove box, the registration she gave to the cop expired in june...which she knew lol)

The cop begins to tell me to put my hands on the windowsill. He then tell me to follow his finger with my eyes but i am not suppose to move my head.....So what do i do? well of course i move my head.....LOL.....
Linds:Wait!! start over!

He does it one more time and although i failed the test he let us go with a warning. Mostly because i think he knew i was telling the truth because of the fear in my eyes. As we pulled away we both started bursting out laughing.
All night in bed we would spuratically bust out in giggles. But after thinking about it i kind of freaked out! What if i would have let her drive? she would have been taken to jail and me and her car would have been stranded in Boise......I cant think of anything worse in life. Me in Boise!!! AUGHHH!
