Complaints about dinner

There is nothing more frustrating to me than having dinner not turn out exactly the way I have meticulously planned it in my head. It doesn't happen a ton because I know what I am capable of doing. If it is too difficult then I put it aside for another time. I expect perfection when it comes to a meal. I had specific plans for dinner tonight. It consisted of a simple meal, all I wanted was breakfast for dinner. On the menu was:

*Pumpkin Apple Muffins
*Orange Slices
*Juice
*Sausage
*Hollowed out baked potatoes filled with scrambled eggs & bacon

These are all simple things to make. I got the muffins made earlier in the day knowing that they would be the messiest and most time consuming. They turned out beautifully. I couldn't be more happy with the result

The juice was just a frozen concentrate. I cut up slices of oranges and put a slice on the rim of each of our glasses.

Sausage, again, not to hard to cook right? Yeah for some reason I didn't cook them all the way. "Hmmm.....its okay, take a breath. It happens to everyone."

I put the potatoes in oven for about an hour. After an hour they still weren't done. "Its okay, Anthony won't be home for another 20 minutes. Just put them back in, its fine."

20 minutes later....

Still not done. I start getting agitated. Anthony is home sitting patiently on the couch while I am in the kitchen banging dishes around and mumbling angry words under my breath.

20 minutes later.....

Threw hard potatoes in the garbage, dished up the scrambled eggs on a dish and yelled..."Dinner is freakin done, it sucks but come and eat."

Its sad when all you want to do is impress someone. I just wanted to blow him away with the beautifully decorated table. The sausage was red in the middle, the eggs were cold and when he asked if the muffins were hot I about punched him. Oh well, I'm over it. I know in my heart I had the best intentions. I took some lame pictures.......go ahead and look at the patheticness of it all.

There was clearly too much bacon. It was suppose to be sprinkled on top of the eggs in the potato. The food looked sad on that big plate....booo

Happy Birthday Creation

The regional manager at my work is having a birthday on Friday....er maybe on Thursday. At this moment in time I cannot remember, since you don't know her it doesn't really matter. Shanna is really close with her so she wanted to get her something special. We decided we should make her a cupcake bouquet. She came over after we got done with work and got started on it. We wanted it to be more of a fallish one. I love the pot that she picked out. It is so cute! We are going to drive up to Logan tomorrow morning to drop it off to her. I'm pretty sure she is going to love it. We are both really proud of it! Now, all we need to worry about is getting it there in one piece. What do you think?

Putting the cupcakes on is the hardest part.

I love the flower we got for the top.

Finished project

We were going to take some pictures with us in them. But after some discussion we came to a conclusion that we looked like trash and didn't think it would be beneficial to let the world to see us that way. This is were I take the chance to say.....your welcome!

It was a great time! Thanks Shanna! Sorry again for the messy house!

Ice Cream Sandwich

Its Sunday. Which means lazy afternoons. Sitting in pjs, pondering the week you left and the week laid ahead. It also means that I am constantly looking for something to do. Being bored and tired of watching season 1 of Lost with Anthony, I decided I would make some more cookies. Apparently Anthony doesn't like toffee bits. He is absolutely crazy, I am aware of this. I pulled out a regular cookie recipe, all the while thinking about how perfect they would be with toffee bits in them. After they baked up, I had a bite and they weren't as good as I thought they could be. I felt as if they needed a pick me up so this is what I did with them.

As if a regular cookie needed more sugar right? I added SUGAR FREE ice cream. I am pretty sure that the chocolate and sprinkles might have just a tad bit of sugar in them. Theres no denying that they taste pretty good though. Enjoy!

Cutting the Cord

I just finished watching Grey's Anatomy. I normally watch it on Thursday nights but it has been a long and crazy week so I just barely got around to it. I AM DONE! I am not going to watch it anymore. I have been strong and stayed a fan through other horrible event such as:

*Burke Leaving-this rocked my world, especially since it made Christina so happy
*Addison Leaving-Hello! Addison was McDreamys wife! She was a vital character to the show, how dare you take her away and make a sub par spin off with her!!!
*Calli Becoming A Lesbian-I have nothing against lesbians, but she was so great with men, especially McSteamy
*Izzie cutting the LVAD Wire- This bugged me, but having to watch her sleep on the floor (after she killed the love of her life) for 3 to 4 episode was even harder.
*Izzie getting Cancer-As if she hasn't been through enough emotion BS she now had to get cancer. She almost died (of course, it wouldn't be a drama if she hadn't). Alex became a better man because of her, so the cancer was necessary.
*George Dying- I knew that this was coming (eventually). Access Hollywood had confirmed it, but I just wasn't ready to part with him. He was my favorite character.

All of these things were hard to deal with. But tonight was the last straw.

Izzie was fired! Fired!!! She is off the show. We will never ever get to see her kill anyone again! She will never make loads and loads of cupcakes and be too emotional involved with her patience. (she was my least favorite character, but she was needed!!!!!)

When George left the show there were rumors of Izzie leaving too. But when she lived through the cancer I thought for sure she was here for good. But now she is gone! She left Alex which means he will be all mopey for a couple of episodes and I just can't do it anymore. It has turned into ER. They brought a whole new crew of doctors and I am leaving while I can keep my McDreamy and Merideth Memories pushed in the back of my head.

Goodbye Greys Anatomy! I have just deleted you off of my dvr....its over!

I apologize to all of you who have no idea what I am talking about. I really REALLY needed to vent out my feelings though. (Shanna, I hope you can get through this by any means you need to. I am telling you right now that I am going to need a muffin tomorrow.)

Carving punkins

After work today I had a huge desire to carve pumpkins. Lucky lucky lucky for me, Anthony was all over it. There is a cute little pumpkin corner by my house. It is loaded with the ugly and misfit pumpkins. I fell in love with an ugly one. Anthony got a boring one....so typical. Also, the stars and moon were perfectly aligned and I somehow managed to convince him that it would be in our best interest to buy a little hay stack to put our punkins on. After being forced to clean up all the hay in his mini we started carvin.

We somehow managed to misplace our carving tools so therefore we had to use kitchen knifes....SURPRISE!!! I only cut myself once! No big deal though, it was worth the pain. Below are the finished projects. Mine is the ugly one. Its amazing to me, every year I finish yet again another crappy carving job and I say to myself: Next years will be better. Welp.....2010 will be different, for sure. The haystack looks good tho eh? O and Anthony's turned out great, as always.

HAHA Anthonys is awesome

Is that not the ugliest pumpkin u have ever seen? I wuv him!

Ghost Tour

I love Fall! I love the weather, the colors, the leaves, Halloween, EVERYTHING FALL! I decided that since Anthony had all week off, we should really take advantage of this special time of the year. I made a reservation about 2 weeks ago for a ghost tour. This involved us in a big tour bus wandering our way around Salt Lake. A cute lil lady with a microphone talked about all the paranormal activities in about 20 different destination spots downtown. My favorite was the cemetery. We all got out and took lots of pictures. Of course all the pictures I took had ORBS in them! My favorite person on the bus was this really serious ghost fanatic that brought his huge fancy camera. He took tons and tons. I'm pretty sure he got lots of orb shots too (:

I have a really hard time believing some of the stuff she said, but regardless we had a really good time. If anyone is interested let me know. It was a nice lil date with Anthony, muchly needed. Enjoy the photos.

Don't see it? Go ahead, click on the photo. It's there, it's real.

I wuvs him! Yes, Yes, I do!

There are orbs EVERY where in this one. I should send it to some ghost hunters society, make lots of moneys and buy my own tour bus to take all the sad smucks around.

I BELIEVE.BUT...it appears to me that Anthony may still be on the fence!

Monday Mess

Check out the photo below. This started my grumpy mood. It lasted the entire day. I was on the way to the bank with the boss, like we do almost every day. I decided earlier before I left for work that I would choose healthy foods. I made me up a breakfast shake. Its basically chocolate milk but has no sugar and lots of vitamins. I was happy with my selection. I put it in the freezer and by time the bank ran came around it was nice and icy, just the way I like it. On the way back to work I went for another delicious sip and the car jerked forward (I only blame Shanna a lil bit) and it spilled all over me. It was funny for about 45 seconds until I realized that my shirt was covered, my face was sticky and my bra felt wet.

I wore a huge oversize shirt found in the office the rest of the day. People on the phone were rude. I had way too much work to do. And basically I hate everything about today. Hopefully the stain will come out, I am not expecting a miracle though. It feels like it should be the middle of the week because on Saturday I worked 13 hours and on Sunday I worked 7....not the weekend of my dreams. Anyways, I'm done complaining. Sorry you had to endure through this. Misery likes company though right?

Below is me, during that 45 seconds of humor. Clearly it was at the very end of the 45 seconds because I am not looking all that impressed. I look like a truck hit me....and it was only about an hour after I got to work......its a Monday, don't judge.

Family Pics

Saturday we got together with the rest of the fam to take some pictures. Here's a small amount of the pics we got. I will post some more later. I think they turned out pretty cute. Me and Anthony are going to get some pictures with just the two of us next week. We are going to do some urban shots! Can't wait!!!

Double Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookies From Heaven

I am going to give you a recipe. Cherish it dearly, for it is the best cookie recipe in the whole world....okay maybe just Taylorsville. I'll just let you decide on that I guess.

2.1/4 C Flour
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Baking Soda
1/2 C Butter
3/4 C Sugar
3/4 C Brown Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla
2 Eggs
1/2 of a bag of Toffee bits
1/2 a bag of Chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350. Combine Flour, Salt, Soda, Toffee, and Chips. In another bowl stir softened butter, sugar, vanilla and eggs together. Slowly add dry ingredients.
Spoon dough on cookie sheet and cook for 15-20 minutes or until edges are golden brown and delicious looking.

I plan on taking these to work. Most importantly I am sending some to the husbands work. I love fooling Anthonys coworkers into thinking that I am domestic. These cookies will work every time. Enjoy!

My New Avon Respresentative

Me and Anthony are anti social the second we drive into our neighborhood. We like to keep to ourselves. I don't know how we have gotten into this crutch. I am very chipper and outgoing at work and when I'm out and about doing regular things. But when I get home I like to be left alone....period. If you come over unannounced you won't be invited in. This is true. Whenever the doorbell rings and we don't know whom it is, we put the t.v/radio/other activities on mute and sit in silence. This is horrible, I get it. But in my defense, I have seen far too many 48 hour mysteries episodes and I just can't fathom opening the door at night now. Even during the day, if Anthony isn't home, I won't do it. Do you remember the episode of the lady that answered the door to find a lovely bunch of flower, then was shot down? Yeah......I can't handle the simple pleasure of opening the door now.

Anyways.............on to the real point of this post.

A couple of days ago me and the man decided we would take a little trip to Costco. As we were getting our shoeies on and searching for the keys, purse, phone...the doorbell rang.

Since we were standing right by the door and basically had the hand on the doorknob we decided against our better judgment to open it. There stood our neighbor....you've been blessed enough to meet him before, if not, please take a look at his opening act

This is how the following conversation played out:

Doorman: Hello, I am your new Avon Lady (he said lady, I kid you not) representing our neighborhood.
Anthony: (in awe) Ooooookay
Doorman: Would you like a pamphlet with the new fall line?
Anthony: Uhhhh no thank you, I don't think we are interested
Lindsey Pops out from behind the door
Lindsey: Of course I would!
I snatch up the booklet and then the doorman stands there for a second and then begins his script
Doorman: I will come around every Wednesday to check on your order and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blaaaaaah blah.

We say goodbye and I stare at Anthony. Did that just happen? Did he really say he was the new Avon Lady? Then, as if I wasn't laughing hard enough Anthony says this cherry of a line.

Anthony: Can you believe that? Our Avon lady has two first names!!!!

Apparently his last name is a first name in Anthonys book and that was what stunned him!

Wednesday rolls around and that is the mans late night for school. The doorbell rang around 7:30. It was dark out. I just so happened to be singing (at the top of my lungs) "Don't stop believin" by Journey. The blinds were open a little and I clearly was home. I stopped midtune and ran up on the stares. The doorbell rang again. I started texting Shanna and Anthony and letting them know that a double doorbeller was at my home and that I needed them to know that if I died, they would need to check the fingerprints on the doorbell.

After the moment died down I realized "SHOOT it was probably just my new avon representative! I hope he comes back next Wednesday, during the day, or this relationship is just not going to work out.
